What makes a pallet bin “food grade”?
A food-grade pallet bin is moulded from virgin high-density polyethylene (HDPE) that contains no recycled fillers, heavy metals or additives that could leach into food. HDPE is non-porous, so it does not absorb moisture, oils or odours, and it can be washed down with hot water and standard sanitisers without degrading. That combination is exactly what HACCP-based food safety programs look for in any surface that touches product.
Our BP 1-2R pallet box and BP 2-2R solid wall box are both moulded in food-grade HDPE, hold 700 litres and sit on a standard 1200 × 1000 mm footprint so they integrate with existing racking and pallet handling.

Perforated vs solid wall for food
Perforated bins (BP 1-2R) allow airflow around product — ideal for fruit, vegetables and anything that needs to breathe or drain. Solid wall bins (BP 2-2R) fully enclose the contents, which suits ice-packed seafood, marinades, liquids and dry ingredients you want to keep contained. Many Brisbane processors run a mix of both and standardise on the single 1200 × 1000 mm footprint.
A matching BPL 1 lid seals either box against contamination, pests and spills during storage and transport. The BP 1-2R package includes the lid; for the BP 2-2R you can add a lid for $50 + GST.
